The role of corporate treasurers has evolved rapidly since 1997 - 1998. In addition to the banking relationship and cash management, treasury managers have to keep themselves informed about about developments in electronic payment systems, e-commerce, risk managemet and relevant software for modeling and evaluating risks, accounting standards, etc. The article describes a situation in Czech corporate treasury less than one year before the country joins the European Union.
