    This paper deals with actual possibilities of coal utilization in iron metallurgy and coal in steel production. Especial insist on coal utilization in the blast furnace process. Our paper presents too coal utilization in alternative methods of iron production and efficiency factor, development cost. In final part is introduced orientation form the further development of coal usage in iron metallurgy.
