Financial Intermediaries Sector in The Czech Republic

Original language description

The financial sector in the Czech Republic ? as it applies to banking structure and non-bank financial intermediaries ? is, by volume of its total assets, the most developed within the new 10 European Union member countries, and is continuing to developrapidly. Despite the recent dynamic development of the non-bank financial sector, the banking sector can be expected to continue its dominance of the Czech financial sector. Non-bank financial intermediaries in the Czech Republic have started to play a more important role in the financial sector since the second half of the 1990s. Although the non-bank financial sector is displaying dynamic growth, it is still underdeveloped by comparison with the ?old? EU-15.

Czech description

Finanční sektor v České republice, bankovní i nebankovní, patří z hlediska objemu aktiv nejvyspělejší mezi 10 novými členskými státy Evropské unie a pokračuje v bouřlivém rozvoji. Navzdory nedávnému dynamickému rozvoji nebankovního sektoru, bankovní sektor v České republice zcela dominuje. Nebankovní finanční zprostředkovatelé začali hrát významnější úlohu ve finančním sektoru až ve druhé polovině 90. let a jsou stále nerozvinutí ve srovnání se svými protějšky v zemích ?staré 15?.
