The aim of this paper is to present the usage of weather derivatives in hedging the cash-flows of hydro-electric power plant. In particular, the index on the basis of the difference between the target level of water flow, required for full capacity usage, and the true level is applied to increase the true income. The specified problem can be interesting mainly in accordance with the deregulation of the electricity sector.
