Brownfields - Barriers of their regeneration and their present inventory in the Czech Republic
Original language description
Land, utilized for the production of goods in the past, also includes so called brownfields. They are plots and real estates in urbanized area which have lost their preceding use or they are underused and have negative impact on their surrounding. They are often,or they are supposed to be,ecologically damaged and their production halls and other buildings are devastated. This issue is typical of those areas that have recently undergone a thorough restructuring, such as e.g Ostrava. They not only have negativeeconomic impact, but also harmful physical influence on wider surroundings.Complexity of their solution, insecurity, increased risks and costs connected with their renovation and reuse, all of these discourages private capital from active economic intervention.Without understanding our brownfields profile, register creation and management and sequential analysis, economic units cannot grasp the issue and cannot prepare active measures to alleviate and address their brownfields problem.
