The relations of real and nominal convergence within the EU economies and the impact on participation in the euro area
Original language description
A real convergence of the economies in the macroeconomic terms is accompanied by a convergence of nominal variables. Both types of convergence can be understood in several ways and expressed by several indicators. The paper analyses the relationship of the GDP per capita development as an indicator of the real convergence and the development of a comparable price level as a representative of the nominal convergence in the EU economies in relation to the EU
