Original language description
The industrial structure in European countries has undergone huge changes in recent decades. There are many factors that affected the restructuring processes. However, FDI and the new phenomenon of business or industry clusters play the very important role in new market economies in the last two decades. The main aim of the paper is to analyse the result of restructuring processes in industries of Moravian-Silesian region, which is traditionally regarded an old industrial region; and moreover to investigate the role of foreign direct investment and clusters, which contribute to the new industrial structure in the region.
