Original language description
The EU objective to become a low-carbon economy is one of the dominant goals of Europe 2020. This article discusses the energy and environmental policy and their impact on the member states. Selected approaches for achieving the stated goals have provedto be ineffective and threatening the competitiveness of the EU and its member states. The article points out the need for strict respect of the subsidiarity principle in the environmental and energy policies.
