The indicator of consumer confidence as an instrument to certify the permanent income hypothesis ? Czech economy evidence
Original language description
The paper is oriented on the formulation of consumption function. The Keynesian consumption function and permanent income hypothesis (PIH) are considered for determination of consumption function. The consumption spending is estimated in proportion to actual income to test the appropriateness of both approaches. The consumer confidence indicator is assumed to express the expected change in future incomes in comparison to actual situation and used as an instrument to represent the PIH effect. On the dataof Czech economy the PIH approach is shown as a more suitable.
