Original language description
The role of foreign sentiment is researched for explaining macroeconomic fluctuations in small open economy. Structural VAR model is constructed for a case of Slovak Republic including relations between foreign sentiment and domestic variables ? real gross domestic product, inflation and exchange rate. Foreign sentiment is represented by economic sentiment indicator as a trade weighted average of the biggest eight trading partners. The study confirmed that foreign economic sentiment can be used for explaining fluctuations of domestic variables of small open economy.
