Original language description
The aim of this paper is to assess the technical efficiency of ICT sectors (manufacturing, trade, service) in nine EU countries and to investigate factors, which influence inefficiency using Stochastic Frontier Analysis approach during the time period 2000 - 2011. A translog stochastic production frontier is si-multaneously estimated with a technical inefficiency model. It was proven that capital and labor has statistically significant impact on value added in all ICT sectors. In ICT manufacturing and ICT service sectors a substitute relation between capital and labor exists. For all ICT industries the share of persons em-ployed with ICT user skills in total employment is reducing inef-ficiency in ICT sectors. In the entire time period ICT manufac-turing sector was the most efficient followed by ICT service sec-tor and ICT trade sector.
