E-government belongs to important current trends in public administration and it is also considered as the important tool for its modernization. E-government provides significant opportunities to transform the public administration towards greater transparency, openness and information availability. Another important trend of contemporary e-government is the development of e-participation. This is the development of innovative electronic tools that allow citizens to involve actively in decision-making processes of government. This paper focuses on selected aspects of the praxis and implementation of transparency principle. It aims on the evaluation of decision-making transparency, information availability and participation possibility in the Czech Republic through e-government (local municipal websites).
