This article is dedicated to the financing of tasks entrusted to the local self-government units in the Czech Republic by special instruments. In the introduction the author defines the system and the types of local self-government units in the Czech Republic and also the primary instrument by which local governments operate with public funds - the budget. Subsequently, the paper discussed the various instruments that can be used for financing and implementation of assigned tasks by local self-government units in the Czech Republic.
