The Connectedness of the European Union and China through the Multilateral Trade System
Original language description
The European Union (EU) and China are the leading exporters and importers of goods and commercial services in the world. The EU as well as China are committed by multilateral trade rules in the World Trade Organization (WTO). The object of the paper is to depict the development of bilateral trade between the EU and China in 2001-2015, i.e. after China's entrance into the WTO and to analyse the sensitive areas of their cooperation, such as using trade defence instruments. Although the EU and China are advocates of the idea of free trade, trade barriers occur in both of them all the time.
