The problem of wage differences between men and women is still being widely discussed even the labor market is developing. Those differences are caused by several factors. The status of women in the labor market shows clear inequalities mainly working to their disadvantage. Difference being visible the most, rewarding for men' and women' work is. The aim of the article is focused on wage differences between men and women in the countries of the European Union. Statistical data of "EUROSTAT" website have served as the source when elaborating this article. The analysis has been provided based on comparative and descriptive analyses when wages of men and women were compared by using the factors influencing the wages amount the most. Those factors are: age, branch, in which the individual works, working time and private and public sectors.
