Development of the traffic accidents in the Moravian-Silesian Region
Original language description
The growing media interest and effective preventive action are helping to reduce road accidents. However, the question is whether this trend will last into the future. The aim of the paper is to analyze and then predict the number of accidents, specifically in the Moravian-Silesian Region. For this reason, it is necessary to identify the variables that affect the number of accidents in the Moravian-Silesian Region. Correlation and regression analysis are used to determine the relationships between variables and create a model, which is then used for the prediction. The results show that the explanatory variables are two - the number of people and the number of cars. The results also confirmed the continuing trend in the development of the number of traffic accidents in the Moravian-Silesian Region for the next three time periods.
