Original language description
The study analyses the relationship between the terms postdemocracy and the issue of legitimacy of late capitalism. The term postdemocracy is interpreted by the author together with Collin Crouch as a concept depicting the fact that within liberal democracy the space that is political, the space of political struggle in which things concerning society as a whole are being decided, is narrowing. The term ?postdemocracy? has recently appeared in sociology and political theory as a part of effort to grasplate modern pathologies of liberal democracy conceptually and defining them critically. The text relates this new concept to social theories by Derrida, Fukuyama, Merton and other theorists who analyze the issue of legitimacy of the present-day capitalism.
