    This paper reports on a study of the influence of catalysts and precursors on carbonaceous film preparation. The deposition of coal-tar pitch fraction on alumina substrate created a filamentous deposit with the help of metals inhered in the precursor. Additionally, a carbonaceous thin layer was prepared from polymeric/vermiculite nanocomposite on the surface of vermiculite substrate.
