Comparative study of ultrasonic effect on mechanical modified vermiculite particles
Original language description
The particle size distribution of powdered samples is measured on dispersed particles in water and ultrasound. Therefore the aim of this work was to find how the ball milled and jet milled vermiculites change at distilled water and deionised water at conditions of ultrasound. The morphology of vermiculite particles after ultrasonic treatment has been studied using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), structural change has been characterized using X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) method and the quantity ofcations at leaches has been determined using atomic emission spectroscopy (AES-ICP). The results showed that exchange of cations and water molecules in the structure of vermiculite influence morphology, particle size and interlayer space value.
