Quartz/TiO2 composite and its acute aquatic toxicity
Original language description
The study deals with chemical and phase composition, photocatalytic activity and acute aquatic toxicity of prepared SiO2/TiO2 composites. These composites with different content of TiO2 (10wt.% and 50wt.%) were prepared and thermally treated at selectedconditions (dried at 105°C or calcined at 600°C). Based on the results it can be stated that the SiO2/TiO2 composite was observed to have the highest photoactivity after calcination at 600°C and with TiO2 content of 50wt.%. The results of aquatic toxicity indicated that all SiO2/TiO2 composites showed growth stimulation of freshwater green algae Desmodesmus subspicatus.
