Antibacterial properties of nanostructured materials
Original language description
Nanostructured materials are very intensively studied for their uniquepropersties. Great interest is devoted to the antibacterial properties of nanostructured materials based on metals, metal oxides and their nanocomposites. This interest is focused to hospital environment and food industry. In the last decade, the use of the nanostructured materials in experimental and clinical settings has risen exponentially due to their wide range of biomedical applications. It is known, that some hospitalsacquiredpathogens are becoming totally resistant to antibiotics. This workdeals with theantibacterial propertiesof some specific nanostructured materials asAg, ZnO,TiO2and Fe3O4 nanoparticles.
