Regeneration of organovermiculite with thermal treatment after sorption processes

  • Original language description

Vermiculite is a well-known natural material which can be used as sorption material. It is very efficient sorbent of non-polar organic compounds in its organically modified form. Many research works are aimed to organically modified vermiculites and their properties. However, only few studies are focused on their treatment after utilization. One of the options is thermal treatment. This work is aimed to study: 1) an influence of different temperatures on regeneration of organovermiculite used as a sorbent and 2) structural changes after thermal treatment. The prepared and tested samples were investigated using X-ray diffraction method, FTIR spectrometry and phase carbon analysis.
