Improvement of methodology of pulverized coal thermo-kinetic properties determination
Original language description
Better understanding of combustion process in large scale pulverized coal boilers can help with increasing of coal combustion efficiency and decreasing of pollutants emissions such as nitrogen oxides and arguable carbon dioxide. This cannot be performedwithout testing of pulverized coal in laboratory conditions. For this purpose it has been built a new testing facility called drop tube at Energy Research Center of VSB-Technical University of Ostrava. This paper describes methodology of pulverized coalthermokinetic properties determination with use of Drop Tube Test Facility and first steps in improvement of this methodology which consists from design of new sampling probe (double wall with insulating vacuum) with special designed cryogenic valve forsmall flow rates and additional insulation for transportation of liquid nitrogen.
