Fate of fluoranthene in contaminated soil modified by calcium peroxide addition
Original language description
Previous published studies had already shown that peroxy compounds increase pH value of soils and improving its agricultural properties (Walawska et all, 2007; Turek-Szytow at all, 2007). Therewith, studies also shown that peroxy compounds improving thebiodegradation of PAHs (Jonsson et al, 2007; Koenigsberg and Farone, 1993 ). During this research, it is shown what literature says and new conclusions could be reached. Studies have shown: - calcium peroxide changed soil properties and their behavior inprocesses that take place in soils, - addition of calcium peroxide in the soil contributes to increasing removal of fluoranthene (efficiency of 95%) - degradation of fluorantene is more effective with lower amounts of calcium peroxide to get an increaseof 1 pH (0,34g CaO2/kg)
