Numerical Aspects of Simulation Based Reliability Assessment of Systems
Original language description
The purpose of this paper is to present a strategy for effective solving large simulation-based structural reliability problems. The presented approach is based on combination of the application of variance reduction techniques for reducing the numbers of simulation steps and the application of iterative solvers for reducing the cost of deterministic analysis. Our numerical experiments indicate efficiency of this strategy. Finally, advantages of using of intelligent information retrieval, parallel computing and Quasi-random numbers are discussed.
