Possibilities of energetic use of selected agricultural wastes by thermal reduction processes
Original language description
The product of biogas plants, in addition to emerging biogas as well as digestate, which is usually used for fertilization. Due to the relatively strict legislative requirements, which must meet the digestate to be used for fertilization, it is necessaryto design and evaluate other potential alternative use of digestate. This paper presents the initial laboratory experiments of pyrolysis and gasification of dried digestates, focusing on the composition of gaseous products of these processes, utilization of solid and liquid residues, material balance and process energy. Gas from the pyrolysis and gasification experiments were captured discontinuously at different process temperatures in glass sample bottles and the selected components (methane, ethene, propane, hydrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide) were analyzed by gas chromatography. Hydrogen concentrations ranged from 20-40 vol. % after pyrolysis experiments and to 10 vol. % after gasification. The resulting iodine numbers of ca
