Methods for cyanide removal from wastewater
Original language description
Hazardous wastewater containing free or complex cyanides brings potential risk to the environment. Therefore, cyanides as highly toxic compounds must be destroyed or removed from wastewater prior to its discharge. We tested several methods for cyanides removal from standard water and industrial wastewater in laboratory experiments. Sorption, precipitation, oxidation and advanced oxidation processes were selected for their potentially high efficiency and ease of transfer into practice. Advanced oxidation processes yielded the most promising results.
