    Method of Preparation of a Catalyst for the Removal of Nitrous Oxide from Waste Industrial Gases and the Catalyst Prepared by this Method The catalyst for the removal of nitrous oxide from waste industrial gases at the reaction temperatures of 300 up to 450 oC is prepared as follows: at first, impregnating solution consisting of aqueous solution of cobalt (II) nitrate at the concentration of 660 up to 1,980 g/l, caesium nitrate at the concentration of 2.4 up to 85.8 g/l and glycerol at the concentration of up to 990 g/l is prepared, stirred and heated up to the temperature of 60 up to 80 oC. Subsequently, ceramic foam is submerged into the impregnating solution for a period of at least 20 minutes, then dried for a period of 4 h and at the temperature of 105 oC and calcinated for a period of 4 h in the air at the temperature of 500 oC. An active layer of the catalyst consisting of Co3O4 is formed on the surface of the ceramic foam in the quantity of 5 to 15 weight per cent related to the total weight of the catalyst with a Cs alkaline promoter in the quantity of 0.3 to 4 weight per cent related to the active layer (Co3O4-Cs).
