LRI ENREGAT EFFECTIVELY EXPANDS THE RANGE OF SERVICES
Original language description
Large research infrastructure ENREGAT, included to the Czech Roadmap of Large Infrastructures for Research, Development and Innovation from January 2019, offers open access free of charge for wide scientific community to the facilities and technological units focused on waste energy recovery and off-gases treatment. ENREGAT serves as a platform for extensive exploration into combustion, thermochemical processes, and anaerobic digestion of waste materials. It also facilitates research into catalytic, sorption, and photocatalytic purification, as well as membrane separation of resulting gases. Moreover, ENREGAT offers opportunities for investigation in associated fields and provides complex analytical services. The uniqueness of ENREGAT infrastructure lies in the ability to perform basic and applied research focused on several waste-to-energy technologies from the laboratory up to pilot plant scale for a wide range of waste and thus to assess the suitability of the technology for the selected type of waste. In 2023, LRI ENREGAT in the open access mode was provided to 91 users and 19 students finished their theses using ENREGAT. Currently, the new facilities (Scanning electron microscope; Ion chromatograph with conductivity detection; Liquid Chromatograph - Mass Spectrometry; Pilot scale continuous pyrolysis unit for biomass treatment; Gas chromatograph with FID and autosampler; Pilot plant apparatus for the treatment of VOCs or ammonia from waste air stream and TOC analyser) were included. Thanks to the Project Modernization of ENREGAT infrastructure, OP JAK Research Infrastructure, 29 facilities will be purchased in the next 4 years. This will boost the offered inventory to 90+ units.
