Thermal and entropic behavior of hybrid nanofluids in unsteady squeezing flow through porous media under magnetic influence
Original language description
Hybrid nanofluids have emerged as promising working fluids due to their superior thermal and fluid dynamic characteristics. This study investigates the unsteady squeezing flow of a hybrid nanofluid composed of Molybdenum Disulfide (MoS2) and Zirconium Dioxide (ZrO2) nanoparticles suspended in a Water-ethylene glycol base fluid, confined between parallel plates within a porous medium under the influence of a magnetic field. The governing nonlinear equations are solved using the ND-Solve scheme in Mathematica, yielding highly accurate results with minimal residual errors. The analysis reveals that increasing the magnetic field intensity and the Darcy number suppresses velocity profiles due to enhanced Lorentz forces and porous resistance, respectively. Temperature profiles rise with Darcy number due to increased particle-fluid interaction. Entropy generation is significantly affected by the Brinkman number (Br) and local Brinkman number (Br1), where higher values amplify viscous dissipation and heat generation, particularly in MoS2 + ZrO2 configurations. Additionally, the Bejan number (Be) declines with rising squeezing velocity (Sq), indicating a shift from thermal to frictional entropy generation. These findings offer practical insights for enhancing energy efficiency in magneto-thermal systems involving porous media and complex flows.
