Massively parallel solution of elasticity contact problems using the PERMON toolbox

  • Original language description

In this paper a new PERMON toolbox for parallel, efficient, robust, modular, objectoriented, numerical simulations is presented. It makes use of advanced results in quadratic programming (QP) algorithms, discretization and domain decomposition methods (DDM), and the application-specificmethods. The core solver layer is formed as three modules: PermonQP (basic QP), PermonFLLOP (FETI DDM), and PermonIneq (inequality-constrained QP). In paper, concentrates on the efficient parallel realization of orthogonalization of the so-called coarse space matrix arising in FETI. This orthogonalization lies within the scope of PermonQP, but is motivated by efficient solution of variational inequalities such as contact problems (PermonIneq) in the massively parallel context (PermonFLLOP).
