Characterization of Cardiac Cell Electrophysiology Model Using Recurrence Plots

  • Original language description

The main aim of this paper is to analyse the evolution of cardiac cell transmembrane potential forced by periodic pacing. For this purpose, the Beeler-Reuter model of ventricular cardiac cell is used. The Beeler- Reuter model is a well stated mathematical model of a cardiac ventricular cell. Many papers dealing with heart electrophysiology using this model for its great properties. In this paper, the model is forced by pacing stimulus with the shape of the half-sine period followed by zero function. The computed model motions are investigated using the recurrence plots, recurrence quantification analysis, and approximate entropy with respect to the pacing period.
