MERICwrapper provides state-space-search of selected hardware parameters, which are dynamically tuned during a parallel application run using MERIC library (RIV/61989100:27740/18:10239721). The goal is in the identification of a configuration of these parameters for the regions instrumented in the application to reach minimum energy consumption. The output of the MERICwrapper is a configuration file of the MERIC library that specifies the parameters settings of each region, which will be applied during the production runs of the tuned application. The current implementation provides 3 algorithms for state-space-search - exhaustive search, particle swarm optimization, and genetic algorithm.

Technical parameters
Nástroj je napsán v jazyce C++ pro OS linux. Pro plnou funkcionalitu na procesorech x86 vyžaduje přístup k model specific registers (MSR), podporuje využití kernel modulu msr-safe (https://github.com/LLNL/msr-safe) pro zabezpečený přístup k registrům. Jelikož je MERICwrapper úzce navázán na knihovnu MERIC, využívá i část funkcionality poskytované touto knihovnou.
