Primary treatment of anxiety disorders and obsessivecompulsive disorder (OCD) may be pharmacotherapeutic (particularly antidepressants) or psychotherapy (especially cognitive-behavioral techniques). Because many patiens appear to be resistant to treatment, it is important to consider augmentation of their management by other approaches. One of the most frequently used practices is to add one of the second generation antipsychotics (SGA).
