The subject of the text is the answer / comment on the correspondence of Peng et al. on the topic, as requested by the editorial staff of the Journal of Rheumatology. Commenting evaluate what changes went through this area of ??research for decades sincethe publication of original results, especially in methodological approaches-genetic epidemiology. From the perspective of current knowledge, then we comment methodological validity and accuracy of the original study and comment on the possible role ofIL-1 in the pathogenesis of systemic sclerosis.
