Minimally invasive methods for esophagectomy have been introduced to reduce postoperative complications. This paper compares opern transhiatel esophagectomy and minimaly invasive hybrid esophagestomy. Both methods have different extent of lymphadenectomy, transhiatel esophagectomy being considered less radical.
