A Case Series of Double Bypass Technique Used for the Treatment of Internal Carotid Blood Blister-like Aneurysms in Patients in Poor Initial Neurological Condition at the Early Stage of Subarachnoid Hemorrhage
Original language description
Although blood-blister aneurysms (BBAs) are relatively small and most frequently located at the accessible anterior wall of the internal carotid artery (ICA), they represent one of the most difficult challenges to treatment. Their dissecting and fragile fibrous wall with a high propensity for rupture render direct clipping or coiling/stenting very demanding. Whereas the necessity of dual antiplatelet therapy may preclude endovascular therapy, clip reconstruction may fail either due to parent vessel stenosis, clip slippage or focal vessel avulsion.
