The aim of this paper is to analyse the role of opposition in Lukashenka's Belarus, to discuss its potential to destabilize president Lukashenka authority and to launch democratic transformation of the country. An article is purposed to show major developments, failures and problems of opposition political parties in their activities focused on undermining the undemocratic regime. To examine the capability and role of the opponents to the current political system, the example of 2001 and 2006 presidential election is used.
