Exclusive Application of Pinyin Transcription in Conversation Courses for Beginners
Original language description
Experience involving teaching the Chinese language in the Czech environment indicates, and this might be the same for all users of the Latin alphabet, that beginners have extreme difficulty with simultaneously absorbing all of the aspects of such a completely different language as Chinese indisputably is. This was particularly limiting as regards the conversation courses. On the basis of this experience, our department began to employ a new method for teaching this courses using materials that were compiled entirely in pinyin transcription, that is without Chinese characters. This paper presents this new approach considering its advantages and disadvantages.
