Adhering to the successful model of its opening year 2011, the Translation and Interpreting Forum Olomouc wanted to remain an open platform for academic exchange which embraced discussion with all players in the field of trans-language and trans-culturecommunication. Invitation to participate was extended to academics (teachers and postgraduate students), professional translators and interpreters, trade organizations and professional institutions, publishing houses, agencies providing language services, "in-house" language departments of transnational corporations, companies developing support tools and technology. TIFO 2011 conference paid attention to the ongoing changes in the language industry and how they should be reflected in the training of future translators and interpreters.
