Last year, the general public around the world twisted to the rhythm of Gangnam Style, an amusing music video by South Korean artist PSY. At the same time politicians and academics around the world continued to turn their attention to South Korea's increasing contribution to international security. After all, president Obama's administration recently adopted the term "Asia-Pacific century" or "America's Pacific century" in expectation of future global developments.
