The workshop surveyed the cultural impact of a major postwar group of British poets--Poets of the Underground. Selections from their representative poetry were discussed and analysed while attention was paid to the sociocultural background of their poetry (such as the tumultous 1960s in Britain). At the end of the workshop, a poetics of the Underground was summed up using literary and cultural studies approaches.
