Academic Communication in Czech as a Foreign Language: Possibilities and Limits
Original language description
The paper is intended as a contribution to the possible readings of so-called academic communication and so-called academic language, it also tries to elucidate which language means are to be taken into accunt in the range of academic communication. Further on, the language means will be contextualized with respect to the referential levels and level descriptors used within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The paper also presents a case study based on a course of Academic Czechfor international Doctoral Students organized at the Faulty of Arts, Palacký University, Olomouc. The case study will be used as a source of experience as well as doubts resulting from the realised tutorial in academic Czech as a foreign language.
