Media are key agents in the process of the construction of social reality in the society of late modernity and they have a potential to contribute to discrimination of different social groups members and thus lead to their social exclusion. Author analysed media representation of Roma people in television news services Události of the Czech television (television of public service) and Televizní noviny of commercial Nova in year 2000 in detail. How has the media representation changed in the last decade? This paper presents basic findings of the new wave of the research and compares the key changes in Roma representation in that period. These results are based on the research conducted via quantitative content analysis on data from the year 2004, 2008and 2011.
