Sacred Re-Enactments: Representations of the Franciscan Past after the Reformation

  • Original language description

The paper discusses the uses of the past by the Franciscan order after the Reformation. At that time the Franciscans had to cope with many problems (inner crisis, split of the order, necessity of reform, competition with other orders). The way the friarsused and re-presented their past and tradition substantially contributed to the successful renewal of the order both on general and local levels.
