Syriac and Greek sources influenced the Hebrew Book of Remedies attributed to Asaf. An abridged version of Magnus of Emessa's uroscopic tract is paraphrased in a chapter of the Hebrew text. The Book of Asaf was copied and read by Ashkenazi Jews in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries.
