Fryderyk Chopin and the Concept of ´Czech-Slavic Style´

  • Original language description

Although Chopin´s stays in the Czech lands were above all only privat visits, the influence of Chopin´s works on the development of music of Czech composers was extraordinary strong. Chopin was soon considered to be a model for slavonic as well for internationaly successful music. The interest for Chopin´s music is documented on the examples from Smetana´s, Dvořák´s and Janáček´s compositions. Stimulating impulses are emphasitzed, because some concrete Chopin´s characteristic features led to original works of Czech composers.
