  • Original language description

The chapter is devoted to the history, architecture and artistic decoration of the Premonstratensian canonry Klášterní Hradisko near Olomouc and to the pilgrim area at Svatý Kopeček (Holy Hill). It deals with the relation of the Prince Bishop of Olomouc, Karl II. Lichtsenstein-Castelcorno to the canon regulars of the Premonstratensian Order. The Monastery at Klášterní Hradisko went through a complex rebuilding during the 17th century. Its form and decoration has been markedly affected and determined by different builders, especially by Giovanni Pietro Tencalla, an architect of Ticino, and by artists, who used to work in the service of the bishop in Olomouc and in other places in Moravia. The bishop Karl himself has been interested especially in the construction and decoration of the pilgrim place with the Church of the Visitation of Virgin Mary at Svatý Kopeček. The structure was conducted by the architect Tencalla and the decoration has been accomplished by different artist, working in bishop’s services. The article focuses on the program of the decoration, outlined by the Augustinian friar Martin Anton Lublinsky, bishop’s art advisor, who was inspired by the Jesuit emblematics. The author of the article pays his attention also to the importance of the cult place in the context of the spiritual life in Moravia and to relation of the pilgrim church at Svatý Kopeček to other pilgrim places consecrated to Virgin Mary.
