Critical Reading of News Reports Concerning Artifical Reproduction
Original language description
The article deals with critical reading of news reports published within two years on the website of the internet daily iDNES addressing the topic of assisted reproduction. The author uses the critical analysis method to show how the reader can realize the intention that lead to writing of the news, find the story the author tells, see the role authorship plays in the article, the way the news is incorporated in the current social context, etc. She focuses on the macro‑propositions appearing in news reports, and the positive or negative presentation of the topic. The author also analyses who the actors of the reported events are, what personalities express their attitudes to the issue of artificial fertilization, whether they are linked in some way to the artificial reproduction clinics, and possibly also their experience with this issue. In addition, she observed what means of expression are used in the texts in order to support the presented content.
