The book is a scientific catalogue of the Spanish art of the 13.-19. century in collections of the National Gallery in Prague. It is the first complete professional elaboration of the collection of the Spanish painting and sculpture (till today were published only breef studies). As the great artists are represented (El Greco, Goya, Velázquez, Murillo, etc.), the text was translated to English and published in a serie of similar scientific catalogues of other national schools in the National Gallery in Prague (as Italy, Low Countries, Germany, Austria). The introduction analyses the presence of Spanish art in Czech collections, the historical contexts, and resume the global and individual valorations. It treatise about anonymous pieces, although of great quality, especially sculpturals, that distinguishes by their individual character of polychromy. In total, the collection is valorated as of importance for the general knowledge of the Spanish art.
